So You Know. . . .
The most common household pest is Ants. Unfortunately, the same treatment cannot be used for all types of ants. Proper identification of any pest is critical in treating to control the issue. It’s always better to treat the source, not just where they are visible, and this goes for any pest.
Ants forage to find food, water and shelter.
Interior: Ants will nest in wall voids, under bathtubs, around shower pans. They will use electrical and plumbing lines, even baseboards, to travel throughout your residence. And once they find a food source, you will find an abundance of ants.
Exterior: Ants like to nest under leaf litter, trees, rocks, junk piles, potted plants and soil, and mulch gardens.
It’s best to keep your foundation visible, as having mulch, dirt or soil, and leaf litter higher than the foundation line will give pests better access to your residence, like weep holes or cracks in brick/siding. Always keep bushes and tree limbs trimmed and make sure they are not touching the residence – this creates a pathway for pests to enter your home.
